I bought my MNML bag about a year ago. For months I saw a flurry of ads on Instagram and really liked the clean and simple design of it. Being a tech geek, I liked the idea of having a solar charger on the bag to hook a phone and speaker too. The concept of being a no-zipper bag was also kind of clever as well. I made the purchase and had a great experience getting the bag and donating my old one.
So, what do I think?
I have had mine for ten months, and I loathe the bag. Sure, there are no zippers on the outer part of the bag, but there are internal zippers, and two of mine have broken. It doesn't sit very well on push carts, which is a massive nuisance because I must readjust it repeatedly during a round.
The speaker doesn't easily detach to charge, and the plastic holder on mine busted while trying to get it off. Also, the cords for the tech kit get pulled around internally all the time, so you must fish them and pull them back out.
The bag is very much designed for warm weather and non-rain climate use. Being here in the PNW and dealing with rainy weather, the bag just doesn't hold up. Putting the club cover on is a massive pain in the ass. Moisture got into the solar panel battery window. And many of the metal clasps have begun showing signs of rust. (The bag is kept in bag storage at my club.)
On the plus side, it looks cool and is light to carry. If I lived in an arid climate with no moisture and only walked or took a cart, I would recommend it.
So I am in the market for a new bag…
Do you have a bag you are fond of?
I have a Shapland bag and get a preposterous amount of compliments on it. Super pricey but lovely. That said I’ve switched to a remote cart and it’s not great on that (was FINE on a normal push cart). Highly recommended if it works for you.
