My goal this year is two birdies a round. Last Friday I tapped in the first one on #1 and lipped out the would be 2nd on #2. Feeling great, obviously going to crush my goal, until the hosel rocket into the water on #3. I use the gas station bathroom technique to cope with those. Blow it up and move on quickly, laughing as you drive away. I had 6-7 more good birdie looks that round but still couldn’t sink one. Ball striking was great but need more putting and short game practice.
I had something happen a few weeks ago that hasn't happened in awhile - which was i completely started hitting like I'd never swung a club. And it was at a nice private course as a guest. Really embarassing. All I could do was laugh it off, play as fast as I could and at one point just picked up my golf ball. And then I suddenly got my swing back a few holes later. It was bad, but you just have to laugh I think. Getting mad makes it worse, for sure.
Nothing like having the wheels come off at the inopportune place or time.
I did try laughing it off and then it kept going which eroded my psyche. Stepping away for a few days I think helped and played "better" than I had been the last few times out. Going out today and will see what happens.

You just need to play a round with me to get that confidence back up.
We can make that happen.
